Dr. Anita Bell’s two-doctor household is a lively place. Her husband, Jeffrey, is a physician specializing in nephrology. The Bells have two children.
But Dr. Bell is no stranger to lively environments. She completed her Internship and residency at San Diego Naval Hospital, San Diego, California, then entered the armed services.
Her most challenging experience as a physician? “Serving as medical officer on a Navy ship,” she said.
She was drawn to a career as a physician for two reasons: it appealed to her interest in lifelong learning, and it addressed her desire to help people.
“What’s most rewarding is assisting patients and families during difficult times,” Dr. Bell said. “I can’t imagine being anywhere else than at Albany Internal Medicine.”
